About

Manuel Alejandro “Alex” sagarnaga, BSN, RN

Board Member — OCNAHN

Burn/Pediatric ICU, RN

Alex has a bachelor degree in Public Health Policy from the University of California, Irvine. After completing his bachelor degree in 2016, Alex started working at Mission Hospital as a transporter, where he found and pursued a new journey towards nursing. He found a passion for nursing through his observations of other nurses that became mentors. As a result, Alex began his journey by enrolling in prerequisites for nursing schools. His hard work paid-off and he was accepted into the ADN program at Santa Ana College. Upon completing his ADN, Alex obtained his registered nurse (RN) license in 2022, and began working at OC Global as a Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU)/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nurse. To further his education, Alex completed his BSN at Grand Canyon University, while completing his first year as a registered nurse. Recently, Alex has transitioned from his role as a BICU/PICU RN, to the new role of an Operating Room (OR) RN in Peri-Operative department at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC). Alex is excited to learn new skills, expanding his knowledge, and being part of the LLUMC family.

Alex has been with OC NAHN since 2018 and now serves on the board. He enjoys attending volunteer event to help educate the community that he serves. Mentoring others is also important to Alex, because he knows the struggles of growing up in an underserved community. Alex helps OCNAHN with planning events and updating the website. He is a great support to the OC NAHN chapter and his community. When he is not working, Alex enjoys time with family, catching up with friends, and traveling with his fiancee.
