School Healthcare Provider: Doctoral Nurse Practitioner Candidate
Ms. Olivia Ceja born and raised in East Los Angeles, California and graduated from the University of Southern California in 2016 where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature and Language. Ms. Ceja received her Master of Science in Nursing Degree with a Clinical Nurse Leader specialty from the University of San Francisco in 2018, when she was blessed to join the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, Orange County Chapter and attended the annual NAHN conference in Cleveland, Ohio. She has worked as the Student Health Coordinator for Mount Saint Mary’s University and prior to that, served as a registered nurse for Maternal and Women’s Health at White Memorial Medical Center. Nurse Olivia is continuing her education through the University of San Francisco Doctoral Family Nurse Practitioner program. She currently works at Marlborough School in Los Angeles, where she serves as the school’s healthcare provider and works to assure that equity leads education. She is an active member of the St. Lucy’s Catholic Church community in City Terrace, and believes in service to the communidad at a time when health and wellness are of upmost importance! When she isn’t wearing a stethoscope and scrubs, Nurse Olivia enjoys baking, reading, spending some time on her yoga mat, and cheering on her favorite LA Sports teams including the Dodgers, Lakers and LAFC! As a product of parents who emigrated from Michoacán and Jalisco, Nurse Olivia aspires to bridge the gap in healthcare disparities that exist, especially amidst minority groups and Spanish speaking communities. She is passionate about providing culturally empathetic care and aspires to continue pursuing this goal as a proactive health and wellness advocate for the community.
