Professor of Nursing Education

Currently, I continue to teach nursing education. I have taught in several areas of nursing including vocational nursing, and undergraduate nursing programs. My experience includes seventeen years of as professor of nursing at Citrus College, Azusa Pacific University & Los Angeles Unified School District.

I teach all aspects of didactic, laboratory, high definition simulation laboratories, and clinical for Medical/Surgical I, II, III (RNRS 191, 192, 195), and Gerontology (RNRS 290), Obstetrical Nursing (RNRS 194) Nursing for ADN program. I also assist and team-teach for various VN program curriculum courses. Additionally, I served as the ADN program assistant director/coordinator for 3 years.

Prior to going into teaching I worked as a Research Nurse, as a Home Health Medical/Surgical Adult and Pediatric Nurse, Labor & Delivery, Pediatric Emergency, Skilled Nursing Facility Supervisor, and Orthopedic Medical-Surgical Unit Nurse.

I was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States at age seven. I was eager to learn and had many teachers who were my role models in public schools. I grew up in a single parent home and teen mother, I surpassed what could have been a statistic and succeeded to achieve the American dream.
